Thinking outside the Box

"Oh my god, the aztek priests are turning the basketball game into a giant power-up ritual to go win the drug-war, by sacrificing the winning team to their gods. The stadium's already full of fans assembling to jump start the new religion. What should we do?"
"Sneak into the storeroom and pop all the basketballs before they start the game."
"Oh. Ok, that might work."
In other news, Ides happened Saturday. Kinda a good conversation, if not as well attended as I'd have liked. Two of the Stargate gms showed up, though, so we did reach the only totally-new gm team I know of out there. Friday was X-Com some-number-or-other, assault on the base, which was kinda fun, and which we (the marines) came out ahead on points in. I'm kinda curious to know how tonight's run went, with the aliens having a better clue what the plan was and just how invulnerable they really were. Also wonder how the Art Spiegleman lecture went today, since I missed it in order to avert the evil basketball game.
Earlier in the week, stayed home from work Wednesday with a sore throat and a headache. Went to the doctor on Thursday, since the sore throat has been around for over a week, and seems not to be responding to cough drops and stuff. He said it's not actually my throat at all, it's my nose, and I should be taking nasal decongestants and stuff, and that should make it all better. So I've been taking both for the last several days, and it still hurts every time I swallow. I'll give it a couple more days, and then I'm going back and saying "nope, still no good, fix it."
San Diablo feels like it's going well, we're generating drafts of characters at a most satisfactory rate. Mechanics still need a bunch of work, but if we actually have drafts of all the characters by the beginning of April, we should be able to hammer the mechanics out in a month without too much trouble.
And now to bed, because I'm too tired to think about the Comet run tomorrow yet. I'll have to throw something together tomorrow for it. At least it has enough elements that have to go in that the stew shouldn't be too hard to make, it's just how the heck they all work together that I'm having a little trouble with.
