In the Pitts(burgh)
Apr. 15th, 2018 11:23 pmHmm, three weeks with no post. I'm just... not keeping this up the way I'd like to. Then again, I'm not really keeping most things up the way I'd like to. Possibly this is 'cause I'd like to keep too many things up, possibly this is 'cause my energy levels are low. Possibly both.
Last week I didn't update 'cause was flying back from Pittsburgh, after spending the weekend visiting the Computational Linguist, with a brief lunch with the cyberneticist. I'd never been before, so that was sort of interesting. The view when you come out of the tunnel from the airport is... quite something, and the airport is Very Impressive, if super empty. The city itself is less-run-down-than-it-used-to-be, if not quite up to Boston/DC levels of city yet. Saturday we went and visited Kentuck Knob, a Frank Lloyd Wright house, which was interesting, if not a home I'd actually want to live in. (Too cramped, I think). The view from the Knob is really something, though.
The week before was Easter Fools, which I don't think I have a great reason for not updating on?
Work has been busy, and I have no been on top of it. Fortunately, we officially have tomorrow off, and I have no other plans, so I can go in for at least a while and try to get on top of it a bit more. Plus remember to pay my taxes, or file for an extension, or something. I officially gave up on trying to diet this week, after it has been slowly slipping a bit more each week for a while, and will see if that helps me start over fresh tomorrow. Also failing at the gym, although at least some of that is my trainer's unavailability, not mine.
Other things... algorithmancy's mother died, and several of us went to the funeral, which was harder to do than I'd expected, but I think he and psholq both appreciated it, so I'm glad we went. Various games proceed apace. Canceled a couple of massages in the last week or so 'cause I wasn't feeling up to it, which is a sign I'm *really* low on energy. Signed up for a guild game for the first time in ages, 'cause I realized at the meeting (which I missed 'cause I was in Pittsburgh) that I didn't think I had a vote 'cause I hadn't played anything in a year. I'm... not sure I would actually go out of my way to fix that, except I'm theoretically working on a ten-day, and don't want to try and run a ten-day while completely out of touch with the undergrads.
Guess that will do for an update this time, not going to try to reconstruct three weeks of evenings one-by-one.
