Fireworks!

With the Deranged Wizard's group. They're being nationally televised now, which apparently means they start later, with more irritating commentary during the last half hour of lead up, but it may also mean they have better funding, 'cause once they actually started, I think they were the best I've seen. Both as fireworks, and in terms of sychronization with the music.

Other things I did since Saturday: fail to get much done at work today, but I can blame it on the computer being bad, which I called my boss from work about, so he knows I was there trying, and I can collect some bonus points for that. I wish that it being slow at work didn't make me slower, but I really just never get anything done until it has a deadline. Sigh.

Yesterday was all about Errol's BBQ, which was good, and I got to show off my comic book trivia roll, and then a Puerto Rico game afterwards, which was fun, but I lost, so not as much fun as it could have been. :-) I begin to think it's a little too obvious when you've lost that game early, but will give it several more tries to see if that's really true.

Failed to drag 'nJ to the BBQ, as he called our place saying "Hmm. I don't remember where Errol's is" about half an hour after we left, it sounded like. So hopefully I'll figure out a time to see him next weekend, instead.

I just didn't feel like using it, 'cause I like The Deranged Wizard. It's right up there with Lear's Daughter as a cool nickname. :-)

Nationally televised

I think the last year I went was the first year they were nationally televised. I found that the changes they made to accommodate that were a real bummer (starting later, strange periods of nothingness for commercials, and no longer starting with the 1812 overture). Between that and how tired I'd be trying to get to work the next day, I didn't get over the inertia to go this year.
