Busy, but not so worky
Aug. 3rd, 2014 11:52 pmWell, the last Big Project went in on Monday, and I spent the next couple of days failing to do anything on the next Big Project, before putting that aside to do some work on other stuff which actually got done. Gym was fine. Other stuff:
Monday: Torino! We went into the Rat Warren, and
firstfrost decided she didn't really want to be a rat sorcerer after all, so we gave it to some NPCs.
Tuesday: Auria! We killed a vampire/necromancer, and sacked his tower, hopefully getting some cred in the land of the Burnt Men, and maybe keeping the war from expanding to that front for a while.
Wednesday: Dinner with
brilit at Mr. Bartley's.
Thursday: Astro Boy and the God of Comics, put on by Company One at the BCA, with CPB. It's about halfway between performance art and a play, about Astro Boy (one of the first anime/manga) and the guy who wrote it, and is quite interesting, if sort of schematic with a fair amount of telling rather than showing, in the way a documentary might be. Although they also did things like have a group of six people vocalizing multiple pages of his first comic (nearly all sound effects of a car racing through a town, rather than dialogue), which was fascinating. Call it 8.5 days of game before dying flying into the sun.
Friday: The Instrumentologist and wife and kid were in town, and staying at our place, so seeing him, mostly. (The other two went to bed pretty quickly after arriving.)
Saturday: The plan was Water Park with Killbot and Germany, but it was cold and raining, so we punted and I mostly slept. Then went to Ole Doc's birthday party, and stayed up way too late.
Sunday: Went to
hariyos's place to make a throwing dagger for Witchwood, by which I mean he showed me how to do most of the gross-work, and then he put the finishing touches on. Not nearly as pretty as the stuff he does himself, but it's probably functional, and we started two more than I'll have to go finish, and he did a couple in a different style for me. Which should give me more weaponry than I actually have places to carry currently, so that'll be fine. Evening, went to Guardians of the Galaxy with Kye's mob. It was a good movie, although I will not be fanboying about it as much as some of my friends. I am really liking the fact that Marvel seems to have mastered "connected movies that you can mostly watch individually", which is really nice. I'll give it 9 days out of ten before being killed by the Infinity Gem, but don't really have much to say about it specifically.
