Feb. 3rd, 2014

Work was full of trainings this week, so I did very little actual work, but I might have learned some useful stuff. Also some useless stuff, but hey. Went in for a while this weekend on the theory I'd get more stuff done, but mostly goofed off. Gym was fine, eating was too much, but not super-too-much.

Other stuff:

Monday: Ghosted Calypso some more. Will try and do a general overview of Calypso in a separate post tomorrow, although I didn't actually see as much of it as I would have liked.
Tuesday: Auria! The Assault on Jora. Which went pretty well, with only minor losses. That... mostly concludes our conquest of the city states (there's one left, but we're not super inclined to take it out, right now), which has been the main arc plot for a little more than two years now. Dunno what the next big arc will be.
Wednesday: Conflux! Training the Wild Cards just got harder, as the swarm's advance-guard is here to kill them off. But one of them has beaten the Astronomer 3 times, and we signed up to go after the Astronomer with him soon.
Thursday: Was going to go to Top Girls, but it started at 7, and I couldn't make it home in time, so mostly hung about.
Friday: Top Girls! As the Davis Square Theater, which I hadn't been to before, but is a nice little space. With housemates, starring [livejournal.com profile] desireearmfeldt. It was definitely a "modern" play, with the first three scenes (the whole first act) being pretty unrelated to each other. The second act ties the plot line together fairly well, except for the first scene, which is thematically related but totally odd. Nonetheless, I *liked* the first scene the best (a dinner party of a bunch of Famous Historical Women from various cultures and eras), and thought the rest of it was a bit too much of a period piece. Which isn't to say that the theme isn't still relevant, but the particulars were very rooted in the 70's. The acting was generally pretty strong, except I didn't like the actor playing Angie so much. (She got better, but the first scene she was in really grated on me.) Call it 8 days of game before being stoned to death by an angry mob. Then swung by Calypso for a while.
Saturday: Went to work for a while, then stopped by the Dragon run and did the post-Dragon dinner. Which was at Royals, next to a bunch of Calypso players, but I didn't actually go ghost at all. Then brought special-guest-star [livejournal.com profile] chengesu and Jelom back to our place for more hanging out.
Sunday: Lunch with Germany, then work instead of the superbowl.
