Only a day late this time...
Aug. 7th, 2012 12:12 amAnd I'm ok with being a day late, 'cause my plane back from DC was three hours late, so I didn't get home until after 2 in the morning. I spent the three hours doing the work I took to DC with me, so work was only slow last week, and not terrible. Gym was also in the weak but not terrible category. Plan "get enough sleep" (implemented starting Wednesday) did not seem to help with either of those things particularly, but it did improve my mood about the whole thing a lot, so we'll keep trying to get to bed before midnight this week, too, and see how that goes.
Also, a shout-out to bamf for getting Curiosity landed, not that he ever got into LJ, as far as I know.
In other news:
Monday: Bumming around at home, I think.
kelkyag came over with toy guns, and we went to Redbones with
firstfrost.
Tuesday: Auria! Investigating Barons in the country we're planning to invade, to see who can be swayed to our side before we go in.
Wednesday: Children's Stories! Mostly poking around Jelom's backstory, but wound up in California to play with the Hellmouth next run. I'm still playing with how to give them periodic combats which don't take over everything but keep the action level high, and feel like it worked moderately well that time.
Thursday: Coriolanus, on the Common, with
desireearmfeldt and
fredrickegerman (and a couple other people). I enjoyed it, and don't think I'd ever seen it before, which is something I can't say about many Shakespeare plays anymore. It had my standard problem with the tragedies, that I find the Tragic Hero not very sympathetic, and I feel like his acting did not actually help make him sympathetic, although I'm not sure what take would have. Karen MacDonald was amazing as his mother, though, and most of the rest of the supporting Romans were strong, although I wasn't so impressed with his opposite number in the invading army. Call it 8.5 days of game before getting lynched by people wearing red-headband-mobs-of-NPCs. Stopped by Random on the way home, but Killbot was already in bed, so played 7 Wonders in the lounge instead of getting ice cream.
Friday-Sunday: DC! It was a restful weekend, which I quite liked. Hung out with
ironrat, the English Professor, and the Doctor in the mornings/early afternoons, and sister and her family in the late afternoons/evenings. CBF and his son made it to brunch Sunday, the Instrumentologist and his family were out of town. Then the aforementioned stupid flight delays getting home.
Monday: Home and goofing around.
justom is visiting, so chatted with him some.
