Sleepy Week
Nov. 15th, 2010 12:57 amI was terribly unproductive at work this week, although I got enough done this weekend to get it up to lame, instead of Totally Unacceptable. But I got a lot of sleep this weekend (naps both days!), so maybe that will help me get on top of things next week. Still not getting to the gym enough, either. :-/
In other news:
Monday: I never remember what I did on Mondays. I will have to start taking notes.
Tuesday: Housemates and I all punted on Auria due to Plumbing Emergency. There was some odd corner-case psych lim going on there, as I'm pretty sure if I'd been scheduled to go to a run that was a *different* run from the one they were going to, I would have just said "you're good to handle this, right?" and gone to it, but going to the *same* run they were punting to deal with it Wasn't Right. As expected, I did not actually do much to handle the Plumbing Emergency (I did a little mopping), but it all got fixed anyway.
Wednesday: Nicholas Nickleby, Part II, at the Lyric. This show should really have been called "The Tragedy of Ralph Nickleby", and the "It's not a play, it's a pageant" thing bugged me more this time than it did in the first half. But the actors and performance was all still good. Call it 4 more days of game, for a total of 8. Before the play, ran to campus to drop off Ducky's birthday cake, which I hear did get him showered, so yay.
Thursday: The Social Network, with Mardigrasboy. The movie is strong, in a very Aaron Sorkin way, with the same sort of "smart person patter" in the conversation that typified West Wing. I like the framing-litigation conceit, and thought the people playing the three main facebook founders (as portrayed in the movie - I have no idea how accurate it is to real life) were all strong. Lasts nine days of game before all its plots are blown in a zephyr-mix and it has to flee game.
Friday: Party Night! Miskatonic and 5E. Miskatonic was pretty empty, as many of the regulars were either sick or at blackships, but that meant I got to actually talk to the hosts for a while, which was good. 5E was heavy on undergrads I didn't know for a while, but by late ducky and Germanychen and mardigrasboy and Jolly were all there, as well as other people I know some, if not as well.
Saturday: Lunch with Germany, then hanging about the house napping and working, then post-Dragon dinner mob, then Whine and Cheese on 4th-WAR.
maverickseraph was sadly absent, but I wore a suit anyway, and hung out with a bunch of people I like seeing, including CPB who was up from DC for the event.
Sunday: Lunch with
brilit and family, plus housemates,
mjperson, and
ilhander. Then work and napping. And now bed!
