Having not much to do really makes me lazier, too. I mostly lounged about this week, as all my regular evening commitments have evaporated. It does make getting to the gym for Lent easier, though. Got some work done, including filing the big thing and catching up on a bunch of littler things, but haven't started the next big thing yet.
Days that aren't mentioned had nothing exciting, like Tuesday, when I just fell asleep at 10.
Monday: Avatar, with
chengesu,
sifai7, and ninjamuppet. Surprisingly better than I expected it to be, by which I mean it was a solid action flick, on par with Transformers or something. The visuals are also amazing, with CGI that was effectively perfect, and 3D that wasn't quite perfect, but was the best I've seen. And Sigourney Weaver is always cool, especially when ranting against the evil corporation doing stupid things. Lives 7 days of game before being gunned down by superior technology, but costumes better than anyone else ever.
Wednesday: Swung by VBL for a bit after gym and buying comics. Hadn't been there since December, and it was good to see people. Plus there was more guild stuff and less FI stuff, which always makes it more fun for me.
Friday: Had been planning to go see Dracula at Theater@First, but it was sold out by the time I tried to get tickets, so wound up at The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus with the MBA, instead. It was fascinating and pretty, but the story is dream logic that doesn't wind up making sense in the end, I don't think. I suppose that's not too unusual for Gilliam, but I'm too focused on plot to be really satisfied by that. Call it 8 days of game before being killed by the Devil for failing to win the bet.
Saturday: Conflux! for the first time in a while. Lots of puttering about to avoid going and confronting George Bush, and the first glimmers of possibility that things might be getting better that we've seen in a while. (The Unseelie are thinking of pulling out of Africa now that the Queen isn't controlled by Sauron, Elrond's willing to give us Elvish Assistance against Bush, and we think we can mess with Asteroids enough to actually divert the planet that's on it's way to kill us, maybe.) Then by
quillion's new place for a party, but I missed the guest of honor, sadly. Had s'mores from his fireplace, and played a game of Pandemic where we Eradicated all four diseases, which was cool, 'cause I'd never seen more than 1 eradicated before. (I also missed seeing
gotspit this weekend, although I hear he was around for Bad Taste. Sniff.)
