'Tis the Season
Dec. 21st, 2009 01:08 pmBut I'm not really feeling it. I've barely started shopping. It's going to be a bad year for presents. :-/
The medium-sized work thing that's due on Wednesday looks like it's really a small-sized thing, so it should be fine. The big thing that's due on my birthday is going to have to get punted back a month or so, but we were kind of always planning to do that. I just want to make sure it gets punted far enough back it doesn't conflict with Arcadia. Arcadia is going to have to be most of what I do during Xmas, I think. Also:
Monday: Worked late and the gym, I think.
Tuesday: Auria! We abandoned the kidnap victim to his fate, having decided he was a badguy and the guy kidnapping him was possibly-a-bad-guy-but-opposed-to-our-enemies,-at-least. Plus, the kidnapper could totally kick our butts in a fight, which made trying a rescue we weren't actually sure we wanted to do even less appealing.
Wednesday: Work program thing in the evening, followed by a little shopping and the gym.
Thursday: GM meeting. Productive, but mostly the only thing I did for Arcadia this week, which wasn't enough.
Friday: Sleep No More, an ART/Punchdrunk production, with CPB and his boy. It's a very weird thing, which I can't really call a play - a bunch of actors wandering around four stories of an old high school with all the rooms decorated to be sets, acting out scenes while the "audience" wanders through looking at things. It was very nicely creepy, especially at the beginning before I got totally used to it, but it was frustrating in that you just didn't get to see everything, and what you did see was hard to fit together sometimes. Call it 9 days of game before being smothered with a pillow, but I'm not sure I'd want to do it again... Afterward, stopped by
quillion's house cooling party, but everyone else had already left, so I watched him play some Mario game for a bit and then left.
Saturday: Conflux run, at
twe's place, where we got to meet the baby. Also the U.S. Army got its butt kicked by the Elves, although we mostly succeeded in a successful evac, and the Pope decided that the Church is allowed to give us more help, which was good. We also found the secret-plan of the Elves in the Appalachians, although we haven't decided what to do about that yet.
Sunday: Brunch with Germany, then to work for a while, although I didn't get so much done, then the Nutcracker Burlesque at the Somerville. It was amusing, but as with Sleep No More, I'm not sure I'd do it again next year. Call it 7 days of game before being nibbled to death by mice.
