Back from China
Mar. 20th, 2006 01:07 amThis week was pretty much all about Xiaolong. Over all, I think it was a good game. It had several flaws in the mechanics, and a few in the plot structures, but the atmosphere mostly made up for it. Certainly, I had fun. And I even managed to set myself time limits for how long I'd play each night, and mostly live up to them. I think the fact that I just wrote off any hope of getting everything done helped with that a lot, as it made it much easier to just say "ok, I'm not getting everything done, and it's time to go," as opposed to the "I just need to do one more thing!" feeling that I normally get. I got most of my public plots accomplished, flushed my personal plots, and died to redeem the honor of my house at the end.
I may be too old for ten-days, though. Wow, do I feel tired.
A few other things I managed:
Tuesday: (Game Break) Hung out with Errol and watched Wedding Crashers (which is still far better than it deserves to be), and then the first half of Jarhead (which is not).
Wednesday: Watched the second half of Jarhead after I got home from game.
Saturday: After I had our magic-spirit-sword kill me so I could leave, I swung by the Gladhander and the MBA's party.
fireworksboy was there, so we talked for a while, and then he and the friend who's staying with him (who I think I met before, long ago, but don't really remember) walked me home. I hear I missed Kosh and 123, and 'nJ is apparently in Brazil, so he wasn't there.
