So, when we left off, I was leaving work for the airport, friday afternoon. Long rant about flight here. )

Saturday is fun. We spend a couple of hours xmas shopping, and a couple of hours just hanging out, and some time eating, and probably do other pleasant-time-wasting-ish stuff. Sunday is more busy, as we go to the airport twice, once to drop off people I've never met before, once to pick up the Rocket Scientist. In between, we do a little more xmas shopping, and some reading. I finish DaVinci Code (see earlier review). Once we have the Rocket Scientist, we go get a fairly nice dinner (but no banana splits, as the ice cream parlor closes an hour early for a holiday party for the staff, darn them). When we get home, I realize I no longer have my itinerary, and worry for a while about when my flight Monday is, until realizing that I'd emailed that information to [livejournal.com profile] catinhat. Then we play Age of Mythology (see earlier review), in which I come a close second (losing by the tie-breaker), despite having played poorly all game, due to some random luckiness at the end. That takes until 2:30 in the morning. My flight is at 7:48, which means we should leave for the airport by 5:30. Minimal sleep proceeds to happen. The flight to SF is fine, though.

Monday is California is mostly a blur. I do a small amount of Xmas shopping, to get my sister-in-law's present, and then mostly crash, having had three nights of Not Enough Sleep in the past week. Tuesday is a fun, quiet day. We open most presents in the morning, as my brother and sister-in-law and niece and nephew are all going to Oregon for Xmas proper. Then we lie about playing with them all day. I should have done more Xmas shopping, so I'll have presents for mom and dad and Sister tomorrow, but it didn't happen. It might happen today, if they come back from dropping everyone at the airport soon, and I can borrow a car. We'll see.

I did read Boy Meets Boy, a book I borrowed from [livejournal.com profile] catinhat. Apparently, high school is the setting of choice for new gay books. This one isn't as geared at actual high school students as Geography Club was, though. It's set in a high school that clearly never existed (the football team's quarterback is also a drag queen, and the home coming queen, for instance), and it's not a coming out story so much as a first-love story. Still pretty light and fluffy, but enjoyable. Lives 8 out of 10 days of game.

And I suppose that brings us about up to the present. More updates as conditions warrant. :-)
