Unresolutions...

So in the last 24 hours, I finished the book I was reading (Island in the Sea of Time), the first season of Six Feet Under, and all the Inu-Yashi Manga that exist (in this English, anyway). All three failed to really satisfyingly conclude. ( Spoilers )

The failure to know how to end things is a real problem in American culture, I think. We don't want to admit that anything ever has to stop, so everything just sort of peters out, and there's no resolution to anything. Conclusions are an important part of a story, and it irks me that they don't happen well enough in many of the stories that I read. Sigh.
