The reason that I can have a lull at work, and still feel stressed out and tired, is that when there's a lull at work, I fill it in with other stuff. Two plays, a movie, a dinner, two gm meetings, a sik game, and two sit-down runs in the last week, and this coming week doesn't look much better. If the workload at work goes up again, I'm going to die.
The Shape of Things was pretty good, the actors were all properly bitchy for the parts, and I didn't even dislike (all) the characters the way that most of the people I went with did. Failed to fill the eight tickets I had bought (two people bailed, got replaced, and then one of the replacements bailed), but it was a full house, so we just gave away the last ticket, and it was all good.
Conflux run was exciting, invading the base of a James Bond villian is darn scary, 'cause even though all the mooks are individually junk, they do a heck of a lot of damage when you add them all up.
SIK game (Revolution) was pretty good, even if I got killed. I'm slowly starting to understand how to play one of these things, although my skills with a patrol gun still suck. You got to give last words if you were killed, though, and they were pretty funny, most of them.
Went to Igby Goes Down at LSC after that. Had seen it before with 'nJ, liked it. Think I liked it more this time, 'cause I wasn't expecting it to have a plot this time. (It doesn't really, it's just a character study, but a marvelously well acted one. And it has Ryan Philippe, yum.)
Comet run went ok, but a log for it will be up on the web page eventually, so no need to talk about it here. Dinner at Asgard was fun, even if I was too tired to stick around for the movie after. I need to get more sleep. :-)
It's All True was only ok, not as good as The Shape of Things, but miles better than the reviews had said. Not sure what was up with the bad reviews, maybe they've gotten better over the course of the run, or something.
So that's my week. No deep and meaningful insights, just running around madly trying to keep pace with my life. I was planning to call in sick one day this week to try and sleep, but it looks like there won't be any good days to do that. Maybe I can just sleep all day Sunday, until the potluck...
