Back from Egypt

tirinianSpent most of the week either at work or playing the ten-day. Including yesterday and today, when I went to work both days. Lots of work recently. Ten-day was good, I had a small-ish part, which was what I asked for, since I knew work would be bad, and got most of my plots done, and had fun. I really do like "public drunk" as a cover, too. :-)
The only other things were:
An Auria run Tuesday, where we discovered that the plan is apparently to take over the town by getting a mayor appointed, as well as becoming the captain of the guard and the controller of the underworld. Plus we recovered some stolen spell books, and demonstrated that I am not learning the "be careful" lesson at all, 'cause the dice keep coming through for me in the clinch. Sometime soon, that's going to bad.

brilit's. Skipped the other two I was invited to 'cause I was at work when it started, and that was the closest one to my office. Only made it just as the halftime show was starting (saw replays of the ridiculous 100 yard interception), and was disappointed that it was mostly a question of who got the most fouls.
Also went to Cabaret at New Rep yesterday. I was not amazingly pleased with it. The performances were fine, but I thought several of the directorial choices were odd. They cut the songs in poorly, the Emcee was insufficiently threating and too much of a clown, and Schneider/Schultz were played as the focus of the play, rather than a sub-plot. (Their (joint) bow came after Cliff, before the Emcee and then Sally, which I thought was a very odd order to take bows in.) To be fair, I was also distracted by the fact that I realized on getting their the theater might have been the last place I did anything with 'nJ, which did not put me in a receptive mood for a show about people ignoring warning signs that are right before their eyes. Probably should live 8-8.5 days of game before going like Elsie, but I was only about a 7-7.5 worth of enjoying it.
And now to bed, so I can get up early and go to prison(s).
