So I did start taking pictures with my new camera, one a day. If [livejournal.com profile] firstfrost gets back and shows me how to upload them to the computer, you might see some. :-)

Work was fine, although it was a short week. I was actually pretty productive, despite being sick and jet-lagged. The argument in the SJC was pretty fun, and not nearly the slaughter my boss and I were mostly expecting, because everyone sort of took-it-for-granted that we were going to lose, and segued into an interesting theoretical discussion on a relatively minor point. It was sort of like getting to hear the justices have a discussion in chambers. I am still lacking in a long-term project to work on, though, which would be useful to get.

On the "sick" front, I seem to have brought mom and dad's cough back from CA. They said they'd had it for a couple weeks, it darn well better not last that long. The worst part about it is that it's leaving me somewhere between 75-80% efficiency, which isn't bad enough to feel like I should just give up and stay home, but isn't good enough to really be getting what I need to do done.

Other stuff:

Tuesday: Flying back. Flights have just gotten more irritating in the last few years, but I guess they're theoretically making the airlines more money, so they don't go broke, or something.
Wednesday: Centauri.
Thursday: Ryuna - pretty puttery, but we killed some random monsters. I got to use my "animal one-shot!" spell successfully for the first time, which was cool, 'cause it totally would have killed me the next round if it hadn't worked.
Friday-Saturday: Centauri-sleep-over night! We worked until late, and then all crashed in Haus, and then worked more on Saturday. I wish I had a better feel for what state the game was in, but we're just not writing it in the way I'm used to, and it's leaving me a little confused. I gave up eventually to come home and clean for the party. Mostly lost the clean the house game, as it was neither as clean as I wanted, nor finished as early as I wanted, but it wasn't terrible.
Sunday: Birthday Party! Lots of people showed up for at least part of it, although 'nJ didn't, sniff. In backwards order: Played the soup game for the first time, and got crushed. Played Power Grid, and won for the first time (after three tries - that whole "jumping to 17 cities the turn you have the most power" thing my brother did at [livejournal.com profile] countertorque's while I was in CA totally worked). Played Family Business with three newbies, and they just killed all the mob leaders early on, and didn't have the feel for killing people with goofy names, and it was all very confusing, but they did do accents and seemed to have fun. Lost to [livejournal.com profile] baniszew in the final head-to-head contest when we each had one guy left, 'cause I couldn't block a basic contract. Had a yummy brunch at Blue Room, and got some presents, which I haven't opened yet, and gave out some presents, but not all of them, and got rid of most of the cake. Also scattered hanging out and chatting, and watching the mail game. Go party!

And now, to bed, after a dose of Nyquil to help me sleep through the night.
